Overview
Shafts transmit power in vehicles, pumps, motors, gearboxes and machines. A worn or bent shaft can stop the entire machine. We machine new shafts from round bar and re-machine existing shafts to restore fits, threads and steps.
For a new shaft, share the drawing or the old shaft along with the material, if known. For repair, we inspect the shaft and suggest whether re-machining is practical.

Questions about this service
Can you make a shaft if I only have the broken pieces?
Often yes, if enough of the original remains to take measurements. Bring all the pieces and any details of the machine it fits.
Which material should I choose for a shaft?
It depends on load and use. Common choices include MS, EN8 and EN24. If unsure, tell us the application and we will suggest suitable options.
How is the price decided?
The price depends on material, dimensions, quantity, tolerances, the machining process and job complexity. Share your details and we will quote after reviewing them.
